Port Aransas Texas Restaurants

There are lots of good restaurants on the island--from casual fare to a gourmet meal and everything in between. You'll be surprised at what you will find. In addition, if you're a lucky angler and catch some fish, almost any restaurant in town will will prepare your catch of the day!
Lisa Bellas - $$$ 224 Cotter Street. Family owned and operated, this restaurant is a local favorite. The cuisine is original, fresh, and delicious. It is located on the corner of Cotter and Station. Bring your own wine, however, because they do not have a liquor license. 100_0067.jpg
Beulah's / Pelican Club - $$$$ 914 Tarpon, located in the flats between Fisherman's Wharf and Virginia's. The Pelican Club, which is located downstairs has a more relaxed atmosphere and has outside dining.  Beulah’s which is upstairs offers a fine dining experience.  Both restaurants serve fresh local seafood and have a wonderful view of the city marina. 100_0065.jpg
Venetian Hot Plate - $$$ 232 Beach Street, located across the parking area from La Playa Mexican Grill. The Venetian is one the best restaurant on the island and rivals many big city restaurants for the quality and originality of its food and wine list. Prices range from affordable to expensive. Trout Street - $$$- 104 W. Cotter “on the water” and right on the yacht basin. Trout Street has a large bar and big screen TV, plenty of restaurant seating area, and a view of the yacht basin.  The restaurant serves all types of food.  The atmosphere is hard to beat and it has outside seating. http://www.troutstreetgrill.com 100_0059.jpg
Virginia's On The Bay - $$$ - 815 Trout Street , located next to Trout Street, but a little deeper into the yacht basin. Like Trout Street, this restaurant has a large bar and ample restaurant seating.  It also has a great view of the yacht basin.  The food is good, although not cheap, and the atmosphere and view are excellent.  It has wonderful indoor-outdoor seating. 100_0060.jpg
Marcel's - $$$ - 905 Hwy 361, located across from Jay’s Seafood and Spaghetti Works. This European Style restaurant offers fine dining with German specials, fresh seafood and choice steaks cut to order.  If you are a looking for something different and would like a romantic evening this is a wonderful choice. 100_0046.jpg
Shells - $$ - Located on the corner of 11th St. and Ave. G. Shells serves seafood-oriented cuisine that is always fresh.  It is a small restaurant, but serves food that will stand up to some of the best restaurants around.  Shells is very affordable, even for the most expensive entrees.  Come early as there is often a wait. 100_0135.jpg
Fins Grill & Icehouse - $$ - Located on Cotter Street next to the Ferry Landing. This restaurant serves a variety of food with an emphasis on hand breaded seafood and hamburgers.  They have an awesome water view with deck seating.  They will also cook what you catch. 100_0072.jpg
Jay's Seafood and Spaghetti Works - $$ - Located at the corner of the Hwy 361 and Ave. G. You can miss it; the restaurant is characterized by a dome roof.  The daily specials and other specialty entrees are very good.  This is a good place to eat if the children want spaghetti, pizza, etc. and the adults want fresh fish or more elaborate entrees. 100_0047.jpg
La Playa Mexican Grille - $$ - Located next door to the Venetian on Beach St. This restaurant has wonderful Mexican seafood and terrific specials. They have a large selection of Tequila's and Margarita's if you dare. If you are looking for Mexican food with a twist – this is the place for you.  Bring CASH becuase they do not take credit cards. 100_0055.jpg
Crazy Cajun - $$ - Located on Beach St. across from the Venetian and Zama’s. This restaurant is one where you order shrimp, crab, or crawfish by the pound, and the food is served directly on the table.  More standard fare is available; however, remember this is a dump-it-on-the-table seafood-oriented restaurant. 100_0054.jpg
Moby Dicks - $$ - Located on Alister St. just past Ave G. This is a great family restaurant that has something for everyone on the menu. Big portions, fun atmosphere and great food plus an excellent souvenir shop with reasonable prices. They also have a fantastic breakfast! moby_dicks.jpg

Taqueria San Juan - $ - 410 S. Cut Off Rd. This restaurant is best for breakfast and good for lunch.  It has a daily breakfast special:  2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 eggs for $2.99.  The food is very good here and very, very affordable.  If you like menudo, it is made fresh every weekend. 100_0494.jpg
Little Joe's Smoke'N Grill - $ - 200 W. Ave. G. Eat in or take out: beef brisket, chopped beef, pork ribs, smoked pork or chicken. Home made side dishes and a great salad bar with daily lunch and dinner specials. 100_0117.jpg
Cancun Grill - $ - Located at 1023 Hwy 361 in the Shops at Port A Shopping Center. Cancun 's serves excellent Mexican food in a casual atmosphere with great daily specials and is very affordable for the whole family.  They also serve breakfast and have a drive-thru window for your convenience. 000_0167.jpg
Port A Pizza - $ - 407 E. Ave. G across from the Best Western. This is a buffet-style pizza restaurant but they will also custom-make pizzas and bring them to the table for you. They also deliver out to the house. In addition, there is a coupon every week in the local paper, The South Jetty.
